Lifescouts

For those who haven't heard about it, learn about Lifescouts and the fantabulous Alex Day.... here

Here's just a brief run down of the lifescout badges I have:

  1 2 4 5 6 7 8 9

1- Hold a Snake
This happened on holiday in Tenerife in 2008, we were at a hotel, a guy came in for the evening entertainment with snakes, and we could hold them after, I have a poster of this on my wall. This proceeded to make snakes one of my favourite animals (about 4th or 5th)

2- See Big Ben
I've been to London a few times, but the first time I remember, I can't remember where we were going, but we'd been to London before, but only to get to specific places within London on the tube, but this particular day, we were walking above ground, and I could see Big Ben, and it was a big deal to me cause it felt like one of places you only see on TV. Needless to say, I've seen it numerous times since. The photo- yes I know this isn't Big Ben- but I don't have that photo- Although we won best photo for our big ben one...
Some friends of mine the day we did the 'Monopoly Run'

3- Visit the Zoo
This was my phone background for like 2 years...
I remember going to the zoo on a school trip in reception (and a specific memory about having to carry an opened Capri Sun around the park because my mum didn't understand 'resealable drink'). But I love the zoo, I now go at least once a year. It's so good- especially the tigers...

4- Swimming
I can't remember when or why I started swimming but I took lessons from when I was about 5 until about 13. I meant to join a club once I completed the lesson courses, but never got round to it. I wish I'd kept it up, I honestly think I could of made something out of my swimming, I was pretty good.

5- Fencing
They gave me a certificate- how kind
I have a slight lifelong obsession with pirates, and due to this, always wanted to try fencing, so I did. June/July 2012 I took a six week course in Fencing, I really liked it but was a tad expensive and girly and posh to continue. I liked the swords though :)

6- Climbed a Mountain
Although I have already got this, I will write again around August time, with a proper entry. I have already gone to the top of Zugspitze (Bavariva, Germany 2,962m) and Mont Blanc (The Alps, France, 4,810m). I think both involved a cable car at some point though. Both happened on holidays to the surrounding areas, I believe the Alps was 2004 and Bavaria was 2009

7- Archery
I beheaded a fake Deer with an arrow
bet there's no Lifescouts badge for that-

Due to (actual) Scouting, archery is something I have done various times throughout my life. I have a proper dream to be amazing like Katniss or Merida (Pixar's Brave) and if I was in a fairytale, archery would totally be my weapon of choice. In real life, I'm not particulary good. However- I did do this once ->

8- Scuba Diving
I've Scuba dived twice in my life- and I'll say it. Both in a pool. First time was at Centre Parcs with my cousins. Us older ones (aged about 10-14) at the time thought we'd try it, me- being the youngest, was too light and had to have weights so I could actually go under the surface. The second was at my first Gilwell 24 in 2010, where the bottle was too high and I kept hitting my head on it. I'm hoping to properly scuba one day; I've snorkelled in the Ocean, that count?

9- Pet Owner
Although having two cats my whole life, my first pet was the beautiful Jasper who was a birthday present for my 15th. He's literally the most adorable bunny in the world. And yes, he always he one ear up and one down.

Another badge I just realised I have is Horse drawn cart. I did that in Tunisa... casual, I know.

Holidays

As it's pancake day, I may as well write about Pancakes as I'm in the mood to write. I know Pancakes originate purely to get rid of extra ingredients in time for lent, however obviously it's morphed into a day of happiness and sugar as a substitute for those who don't appreciate Valentines Day (OHMYSPUD, THAT WAS THE SUBJECT OF THE PREVIOUS POST...moving on)

More lists for you; best things on pancakes

Sugar and lemon is beyond boring, spice it up (not literally- unless you want to) using these.
1) I've never tried it, but i theorized it a few days ago, when pancake is cooked but still in the pan, throw some gummy bears on it, allow to soften and eat. Diabetes in a pancake :)

2) using a similar method to the previous, use other sweets, so instead of using normal chocolate, use Aero or kitkat or something

3) My personal favourite; marshmallow spread.

4) Popping candy (can be combined with other ingredients)

Moving to Valentines day.

Although being in a relationship, I don't see much of the big deal of Valentines, I've bought him a packet of sweets (which he knows about) and I believe that's it for the both of us- however I've heard my relationship is odd to begin with.

I like the idea of Valentines to tell someone you love them, but this shouldn't be localised to relationships, a few years ago I made all my friends Valentines cards, it was awesome just to tell them how cool they were, it's almost like a day off from being mean for me.. which is horrible ;)

All these grand gestures though, are just weird. I see the grand gestures as an apology for not being good enough for the other 364.25 days a year. Un-needed. Fair enough if you like them, but I'd rather have consistency, as a horrible mean person I am, my friends don't get this, so Valentines is my day to be nice (I'm not sticking to that)

Well that'll be all my input in life for the next two months. I'ma call it the 'Charlie McDonnell effect'
...was that mean?

(If you got that, you can stay)

For the record- Halloween's the best Holiday.

errr...

Two consectutive daily posts I hear you scream.
I know, I don't even know what I've been so busy doing, and why I'm suddenly not busy.. so weird.

However, in the time it's taken my latop to load this page; I've forgotten toadys subject.

Yep... completly.

dammit.

Award Season

Consistency obviously isn't my thing. However, I have an actual subject for you today. As it's award season I thought I'd impose a few of my film feelings on you.

I like to think of myself as a film fanatic, but I'm too lazy to be a fanatic of anything. Therefore, when it comes to keeping up to films in awards seasons, if in doubt, I'll route for the one I've actually heard of.

Using the rule above, this usually leaves me with the Animation catergory as my favourite award, as an avid Disney/Pixar fan; I usually at least have heard of those ones.

Usually I'm lucky if I've seen one of the big award mega nominations each year. This year's is Les Miserable (which was awesome)

I'm pretty rubbish for linking names to faces, so when someone says a name, I always hope they cut to the person in the audience otherwise I have to find my laptop and load up IMDB.

And now I'm sleepy, so this is all you get :)
